Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her seventh consecutive Budget in Parliament today – Tuesday, July 23. The Budget for 2024-25 is being considered the action plan for the Modi 3.0 government to outline a roadmap towards India’s development in the next five years.
In her 7th record Union Budget, Nirmala Sitharaman announced key employment schemes. She is also expected to announce an increase in the basic exemption limits under both old and new tax regimes in a huge relief for the middle class.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday had said that the Finance Minister will present a strong budget, adding that he will ensure that the government’s guarantees reach the common man. Nirmala Sitharaman yesterday – on the first day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament – tabled the Economic Survey in Parliament.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday announced a fund of ₹ 1,000 crore to encourage space technology development.
The announcement, which came in her Union Budget 2024 speech in the Parliament, is expected to help more than 180 government-recognized space technology startups in India.
The announcement came a day after the Economic Survey 2023-24, tabled in Parliament by Ms Sitharaman, said that over the last few years, the space sector had seen remarkable progress in the buildup of rockets, satellites and spacecraft used for space exploration, and ground infrastructure.
Presently, India has 55 active space assets which include 18 communication satellites, nine navigation satellites, five scientific satellites, three Meteorological Satellites, and 20 Earth Observation satellites,” the survey said.
It also said the New Space India Limited (NSIL) has successfully executed its contract to launch 72 satellites of OneWeb to Low Earth Orbit through LVM3, M2 and M3 missions, establishing LVM3 as a reliable Launch Vehicle in the global commercial launch services market.
The Economic Survey 2023-24 said the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACE) a single window agency to promote and authorise space activities has received 440 applications as on January 1, from more than 300 Indian entities pertaining to authorisation. handholding, facility support and consultancy, technology transfer, and facility usage.
The survey said 51 Mous and 34 joint project implementation plans have been signed with various non-governmental entities as of January 1, to extend the necessary support for carrying out the space activities.

दिवंगत पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह का अंतिम संस्कार राजकीय सम्मान के सा दिल्ली के निगम बोध घाट पर किया गया. पूरे देश ने उन्हें नाम आंखों से विदाई दी. मनमोहन सिंह के अंतिम संस्कार में राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, गृह मंत्री अमित शाह और रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह भी मौजूद रहे.
पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह का अंतिम संस्कार आज राजकीय सम्मान से दिल्ली के निगम बोध घाट पर किया गया. इससे पहले कांग्रेस कार्यालय से निगम बोध घाट तक उनकी अंतिम यात्रा निकाली गई. इस यात्रा में लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता राहुल गांधी भी शामिल थे. मनमोहन सिंह के अंतिम संस्कार के दौरान राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, गृह मंत्री अमित शाह और रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह भी मौजूद रहे.
पूर्व पीएम मनमोहन सिंह का पार्थिव शरीर अंतिम संस्कार से पहले करीब एक घंटे तक कांग्रेस मुख्यालय में रखा गया. यहां कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ-साथ आम जनता ने भी उनके अंतिम दर्शन किए. बता दें कि गुरुवार (26 दिसंबर) रात मनमोहन सिंह का दिल्ली के AIIMS अस्पताल में निधन हुआ था. उनकी तबीयत बिगड़ने के बाद उन्हें भर्ती कराया गया था.

India was catapulted from tenth position when Dr Singh took over into the world’s third largest economy by 2014, raising the living standard of millions.
At the core of Dr Singh’s idea of India was the belief in not just high growth but inclusive growth and of a tide that would raise all boats. This belief was enshrined in the passage of bills that ensured citizens the legal Right to Food, Right to Education, Right to Work and the Right to Information. Dr Singh’s rights-based revolution created a new era in Indian politics.
This story of unprecedented growth and prosperity is the story of Dr Singh’s premiership from 2004-2014. But it began during his tenure as Finance Minister from 1991-1996 when the script first began to take shape. In July 1991, Dr Manmohan Singh ended his budget speech with the words “No power on earth can stop an idea whose time has come. I suggest to this august House that the emergence of India as a major economic power in the world happens to be one such idea.” This was the beginning of his idea of India.
It is this period that launched India on its path to economic superpower status and also burnished Dr Singh’s credentials as an innovative thinker and administrator. However, the foundations of Dr Singh’s beliefs and his dedication to public service can be traced back to his early twenties and the very beginning of his career.
Dr Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932 in Punjab. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Economics from Panjab University in 1952 and 1954 respectively. He completed his Economic Tripos from Cambridge University in 1957. He followed this with a D.Phil in Economics from Oxford University in 1962.
Dr Singh went on to teach at Punjab University and the Delhi School of Economics. He joined the Government of India as Economic Advisor in the Commerce Ministry in 1971. He was soon promoted to Chief Economic Advisor in the Finance Ministry in 1972. After a short stint at the UNCTAD Secretariat, he was appointed Secretary General of the South Commission in Geneva from 1987-1990. In addition, Dr Singh also held the positions of Secretary in the Finance Ministry, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the University Grants Commission.
Dr Singh has been a Member of the Rajya Sabha since 1991, where he was Leader of the Opposition from 1998-2004. Following, the Congress Party’s historic wins in 2004 and 2009, he took the Office of Prime Minister on 22nd May, 2004 and again on 22nd May, 2009.
Dr Singh’s commitment to development and his many achievements have been recognized through the many honours that have been conferred upon him. These include the Padma Vibhushan in 1987, the Euro Money Award for Finance Minister of the Year in 1993, the Asia Money Award for Finance Minister of the Year in both 1993 and 1994 and the Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Award of the Indian Science Congress in 1995.
However, Dr Manmohan Singh is known not only for his vision that led India to become an economic powerhouse but also for his hard-work and his humble, soft-spoken demeanor. He is a Prime Minister who will be remembered not only for the leaps and bounds by which he took India forward but also as a man of thought and of integrity.

ahakumbh 2025 Last Date: महाकुंभ का विशाल धार्मिक आयोजन 13 जनवरी 2025 को पौष पूर्णिमा के शुभ दिन से आरंभ हुआ था, जिसका समापन 26 फरवरी 2025 को महाशिवरात्रि के दिन होगा। महाकुंभ के दौरान त्रिवेणी संगम में स्नान करना अत्यंत पुण्यदायी माना जाता है। धार्मिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार कुंभ में माघ मास के दौरान स्नान करने से समस्त पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं और व्यक्ति को मोक्ष प्राप्त होता है। यह भी कहा जाता है कि महाकुंभ में विधिपूर्वक स्नान करने से अश्वमेध यज्ञ के समान पुण्य फल की प्राप्ति होती है।

13 जनवरी 2025 से आयोजित महाकुंभ मेले में संगम स्नान के लिए कुछ विशेष तिथियों को अत्यंत शुभ माना जाता है। इस दौरान 13 जनवरी 2025 को पौष पूर्णिमा के दिन पहला स्नान था। इसके बाद 14 जनवरी 2025 को मकर संक्रांति के अवसर पर पहला अमृत स्नान किया गया, जबकि 29 जनवरी 2025 को मौनी अमावस्या पर करोड़ों लोगों ने दूसरे अमृत स्नान पर आस्था की डुबकी लगाई।
महाकुंभ केवल एक धार्मिक आयोजन ही नहीं, बल्कि एक दिव्य आध्यात्मिक अनुभव होता है, जहाँ देश-विदेश से श्रद्धालु, साधु-संत और योगी एकत्र होकर आध्यात्मिक साधना, ध्यान और भक्ति में लीन होते हैं। यह आयोजन भारतीय संस्कृति, धर्म और परंपराओं का जीवंत प्रमाण है, जिसमें आत्मशुद्धि और मोक्ष प्राप्ति की भावना प्रबल होती है।
महाकुंभ मेला अनुष्ठानों का एक भव्य समागम है, जिसमें स्नान समारोह सबसे महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है। त्रिवेणी संगम पर, लाखों तीर्थयात्री इस पवित्र अनुष्ठान में भाग लेने के लिए एकत्रित होते हैं। यह इस विश्वास पर आधारित है कि पवित्र जल में डुबकी लगाने से व्यक्ति अपने सभी पापों से शुद्ध हो सकता है, खुद को और अपने पूर्वजों को पुनर्जन्म के चक्र से मुक्त कर सकता है, और अंततः मोक्ष या आध्यात्मिक मुक्ति प्राप्त कर सकता है।
स्नान अनुष्ठान के अलावा, तीर्थयात्री पवित्र नदी के तट पर पूजा-अर्चना भी करते हैं और विभिन्न साधुओं और संतों के नेतृत्व में ज्ञानवर्धक प्रवचनों में सक्रिय रूप से भाग लेते हैं। पौष पूर्णिमा के शुभ अवसर से शुरू होने वाले प्रयागराज महाकुंभ के दौरान पवित्र जल में डुबकी लगाना पवित्र माना जाता है, लेकिन कुछ विशिष्ट तिथियां हैं जो विशेष महत्व रखती हैं। इन तिथियों पर संतों, उनके शिष्यों और विभिन्न अखाड़ों (धार्मिक आदेशों) के सदस्यों की शानदार शोभायात्राएं निकलती हैं। वे शाही स्नान के रूप में जाने जाने वाले भव्य अनुष्ठान में भाग लेते हैं, जिसे महाकुंभ मेले के आरंभ का प्रतीक ‘राजयोगी स्नान’ भी कहा जाता है । राजयोगी स्नान कुंभ मेले का मुख्य आकर्षण है और उत्सव के शिखर का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है।
